The American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training with Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course prepares youth ages 11-16 to care for children and infants safely and confidently. It includes hands-on activities, videos, and discussions to develop essential real-life readiness babysitting skills. The course covers feeding, diapering, picking up, and holding children, safety, and emergency response. We want to prepare participants well for emergencies, but CPR can be physically demanding, and participants should ideally weigh 85-90 pounds or more to participate in this portion of the course. Successful completion awards a 10-year Babysitter’s Training certificate and a 2-year Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certificate.
