Basic Life Support-BL r.21
The 2021 Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides healthcare providers and public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult, child, and infant patients. This class is taught in a blended learning format, and the online portion (accessed via mobile, desktop, or tablet) must be completed before attending the instructor-led skills session. Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a 2-year Basic Life Support digital certificate with anytime, anywhere access to the certificate and training history. In support of improving patient care, the American Red Cross is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. The American Red Cross is an accredited provider of continuing education by the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education. Certification
Red Cross courses offer Digital Certification, an online version of a Red Cross certificate, which provides anytime, anywhere access to student training history and course certificates. Digital certificates can be viewed, printed, or shared online and can be accessed anytime through your Red Cross Account. Each certificate includes a unique ID and a QR code that meet employment requirements and allow employers to easily verify your certificate’s validity. There is no need to carry your printed certificate around anymore!
Continuing Education (CE)
Once training has been completed, healthcare professionals who need continuing education (CE) to maintain licensure or professional certification can obtain accredited CE credit through the American Red Cross.
