The American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training with Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED-BL course prepares youth ages 11-16 to safely and confidently care for children and infants. It includes hands-on activities, videos, and discussions to develop essential real-life readiness babysitting skills. The course covers feeding, diapering, picking up, and holding children, safety, and emergency response. We want to prepare participants well for emergencies, but CPR can be physically demanding, and participants should ideally weigh 85-90 pounds or more to participate in this portion of the course. The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Blended Learning course includes an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion must be completed before attending the in-person training and must be taken on a PC or tablet with a high-speed Internet connection. Allow approximately 2 hours to complete the online portion. Upon successful completion of both the online and in-person portions of the course, a valid 10-year Babysitter's Training digital certification and a valid 2-year digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED are issued.

This class is taught in a blended learning format, and the online portion (accessed via mobile, desktop, or tablet) must be completed before attending the instructor-led skills session. Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a 2-year Basic Life Support digital certificate with anytime, anywhere access to the certificate and training history. In support of improving patient care, the American Red Cross is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. Red Cross courses offer Digital Certification, an online version of a Red Cross certificate, which provides anytime, anywhere access to student training history and course certificates. Digital certificates can be viewed, printed, or shared online and can be accessed anytime through your Red Cross Account. Each certificate includes a unique ID and a QR code that meet employment requirements and allow employers to easily verify your certificate’s validity. There is no need to carry your printed certificate around anymore!
Once training has been completed, healthcare professionals who need continuing education (CE) to maintain licensure or professional certification can obtain accredited CE credit through the American Red Cross.
